When Zechariah spoke to young Yeshua HaMashiach

What do you suppose ran through our young Savior’s mind and heart as he meditated on Zechariah’s prophecies, which:

  • speak God’s blessings on a high priest whose name he shared
  • gave the careful servant authority over the Temple
  • promised he would walk among the angels
  • told him he was a symbol of things to come
  • declared the Lord would remove the sins of the land “in a single day”
  • said he would “build the Temple of the Lord”
  • rule as both priest and king, with perfect harmony between the two roles

What must it have been like for young Yeshua, son of Joseph of Nazareth, to listen as his rabbi taught messianic passages?

Zechariah 3:2-10
Zechariah 6:13
