Impoverished lives in the Land of More Money Than Sense

They say “Poverty is a poverty of relationship,” and we take that to mean that poor people are poor because they don’t know anyone who knows how to live differently — and that’s true. But there’s the opposite kind of poverty, which afflicts more of us who frequent the Web, and that’s a poverty of relationship with people who are poor.

We live impoverished lives in the Land of More Money Than Sense because we don’t have deep relationships with outlanders who survive on just a fraction of what we think is required to get by.

We need to get out more.
