Diving headlong into the pit

The love to which Jesus calls you is radical — extreme by the standards of our “It’s all about me” world.

Jesus commands:

— Love of God, “with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength”
— Love of neighbor, “as you love yourself”
— Love of each other, “as I have loved you.”

The world never sees love like that. We don’t even see it often in our churches. But if … when … God’s people begin to love like that, the conditions are right for a perfect storm of transformation in a community.

Our world isn’t headed to hell in a handbasket. It’s jumped out of the basket and is diving headlong into the pit. Now would be a really good time to unleash some of that extreme Jesus-love in the lives of people around you.
