CE, not AD

Doing some research this morning and was reminded that some folks insist on using “CE” (Common Era) instead of “AD” (Anno Domini, the year of our Lord) as a way of implicitly repudiating the West’s Christian heritage and adopting a “secular” protocol for numbering the years.

Kind of futile, it seems to me, to mark this year as 2009 CE instead of AD 2009. Until you change the year number, you’re still counting how long it has been since the time-splitting, history-making birth of Jesus Christ.
