Creating a culture of innovation in your church

Every church, regardless of worship style or outreach methodology, must stay alert to the danger of the tyranny of the status quo. What is new and fresh and vibrant in worship today can become empty and routine. We may even still find it enjoyable ourselves, but it no longer creates a God-pleasing aroma of worship that ascends to the Throne. Creating a culture of innovation keeps us from becoming stagnant in worship or any of God’s other purposes of the Church.

Erwin McManus, lead pastor of Mosaic Church in Los Angeles, and two of his fellow staff members, Eric Bryant and Ralph Neighbour, have an excellent podcast on creating a culture of innovation in your church, posted on Rick Warren’s ministry podcast site.
