‘Just don’t marry one’

By Mark Kelly

Mark KellyWe’ve all heard the arguments. Some of us have even had the advice whispered to us personally. It’s about why God supposedly disapproves of interracial couples:

Races are God’s will and therefore amalgamating them is against his will.

God forbade the Jews from marrying other peoples.

There is a curse on Ham, the son of Noah, who the Black race came from.

Interracial marriage tends toward the lessening of the diversity that God intends.

The cultural differences make interracial marriage wrong because the couple will be incompatible.

The Desiring God site offers excellent responses to these old saws – from a biblical perspective. It’s the fifth installment in a seven-part series on racial harmony.

Read about it here.

And have you read this book?
