Jesus said, “I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. Wherever they go, they will find green pastures. … My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.” (John 10:9-10 NLT)
Being saved is more than getting a ticket to the good afterlife. Our shepherd intends for his sheep to experience life as a green pasture. Jesus’ purpose in coming was not just to seek and save the lost, but also to give us life in all its fullness today. The result of salvation is that shalom justice comes into a person’s life, and that justice ripples out, bringing to others the full, free, and forever life Jesus paid for with his life.
